150gsake (before reduce)

Directions

Marinate the beef 1-2 days.

Sear the beef then take out and leave to the side.

Sautée onions in the same pan.

Pour marinade in and cook out any raw blood, but don’t over-reduce.

Assemble everything and optionally add scallions or condiments.

Notes

Traditionally thin sliced beef is used for this dish, but I personally enjoy thicker fattier cuts like the short rib. Because I’m using a thick short rib, I chose to marinate the beef for a deeper consistent flavor. You may skip the marinate step if you’re using thin sliced beef.
