Chicken Ochazuke 雞お茶漬け

—Popcorn Chicken
—Rice
—Basil (optional)
—Wasabai
—Togarashi
Tea broth
—Water
—Kombu
—Bonito flakes
—Hojicha or tea leaves of your choice

Directions

Make popcorn Chicken.

Cook rice.

Make the tea broth. Make a dashi by simmering kombu in water for 1-2 hours. Add in bonito flakes and steep with tea leaves for 5min or so.

Combine everything and pour hot tea broth over chicken and rice.

Notes

I usually make a large batch of fried chicken. This is a great way to utilize some of the leftover for a second meal.
